28 | 28 | That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to require the State 1 | |
29 | 29 | Elections Enforcement Commission to suspend any civil penalty 2 | |
30 | 30 | assessed against any individual for a first-time violation of any 3 | |
31 | 31 | campaign finance law, upon the request of such individual, if (1) such 4 | |
32 | 32 | violation was unintentional, (2) such violation was of a minor nature, 5 | |
33 | 33 | including, but not limited to, an improper contribution of less than five 6 | |
34 | 34 | hundred dollars, and (3) the individual takes remedial measures that 7 | |
35 | 35 | completely correct such violation not later than thirty days after the 8 | |
36 | 36 | assessment of such penalty. 9 | |

38 | 38 | To permit individuals to remediate first-time, minor, unintentional | |
39 | 39 | campaign finance law violations without civil penalty if the | |
