AN ACT CONCERNING THE PAYMENT OF MEDICARE REIMBURSEMENTS BY INSURANCE COMPANIES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to require that each 1 insurance company tender payment directly to counsel for a Medicare 2 beneficiary if (1) the beneficiary sustained a bodily injury in this state, 3 (2) such beneficiary received health care services resulting from such 4 injury, (3) Medicare conditionally tendered payment to such 5 beneficiary for the cost of such services, and (4) such company is 6 deemed liable for the cost of such services as part of a legal 7 proceeding. 8 Statement of Purpose: To require that insurance companies tender payment directly to counsel for Medicare beneficiaries in certain circumstances.
