1818 AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEFINITION OF "NEGLECTED" IN
1919 JUVENILE MATTERS.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That subdivision (4) of section 46b-120 of the general statutes be 1
2424 amended to provide that "neglected" does not include permitting a 2
2525 child, who is of sufficient maturity, physical condition and mental 3
2626 ability to avoid substantial risk of physical harm, to engage in 4
2727 independent activities that include, but are not limited to: (1) Traveling 5
2828 to and from school by walking, running or biking, (2) traveling to and 6
2929 from nearby commercial or recreational facilities, and (3) engaging in 7
3030 outdoor play or similar activities. 8
3131 Statement of Purpose:
3232 To ensure, within limits, that parents are permitted to give their
3333 children age-appropriate freedoms to participate in certain activities.
