AN ACT PROVIDING TITLE PROTECTION TO INDIVIDUALS WITH A 
DEGREE IN SOCIAL WORK. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That chapter 383b of the general statutes be amended to prohibit 1 
any person from using the title "social worker" or any initials 2 
associated with such title unless that person has obtained a bachelor's, 3 
master's or doctorate degree from an accredited social work program. 4 
Statement of Purpose:   
To provide title protection to individuals with a degree in social work.
