WALKER, 93 rd Dist. AN ACT LIMITING USE OF THE TITLE "SOCIAL WORKER". Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 383b of the general statutes be amended to (1) limit use 1 of the title "social worker" to those licensed pursuant to the chapter or 2 those who have attained a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree in 3 social work at an educational institution accredited by the Council on 4 Social Work Education, and (2) define the practice of social work. 5 Statement of Purpose: To protect the public by setting standards for the qualification, training and experience of those who seek to represent themselves to the public as social workers, certified social workers, licensed clinical social workers or licensed master social workers, and by promoting high standards of professional performance for those engaged in the practice of social work.
