AN ACT CONCERNING THE APPLICATION OF COST -SHARING
ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS FOR COVERED PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to provide that 1
each insurer, health care center, fraternal benefit society, hospital 2
service corporation, medical service corporation or other entity that 3
delivers, issues for delivery, renews, amends or continues a health 4
insurance policy in this state that provides coverage for prescription 5
drugs shall deduct, from an insured's cost-sharing obligation for a 6
covered prescription drug under such policy, all cost-sharing 7
assistance payments that the insured receives from the pharmaceutical 8
manufacturer of a covered prescription drug. 9
Statement of Purpose:
To require each insurer, health care center, fraternal benefit society,
hospital service corporation, medical service corporation or other
entity that delivers, issues for delivery, renews, amends or continues a
health insurance policy in this state to apply each cost-sharing
assistance payment for a covered prescription drug to any cost-sharing
obligation for such drug.
