AN ACT CONCERNING THE COURT'S ABILITY TO ORDER 
SUPERVISED VISITATION OF A MINOR CHILD IN A FAMILY 
RELATIONS MATTER. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That section 46b-56 of the general statutes be amended to provide 1 
that a court may not order that a parent of a minor child be limited to 2 
supervised visitation with the child, unless the Department of 3 
Children and Families has made a finding that such parent has abused 4 
or neglected the minor child. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To limit the court's ability to order supervised visitation between a 
parent and a minor child to those cases in which the Department of 
Children and Families has made a finding that such parent has abused 
or neglected the minor child.
