AN ACT ALLOWING MUNICIPALITIES TO ASSESS A FEE ON
INDEPENDENT INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION FOR
MUNICIPAL POLICE AND FIRE SERVICES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to permit municipalities to 1
assess a fee of five hundred dollars per student on independent 2
institutions of higher education located in the municipality for 3
municipal police and fire services. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To allow municipalities to assess a fee on independent institutions of
higher education to mitigate the costs incurred for the provision of
police and fire services.
