1818 AN ACT CONCERNING THE DELIVERY OF RESPITE CARE
1919 SERVICES.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That section 17a-218 of the general statutes be amended to provide 1
2424 that the Department of Developmental Services shall (1) deliver direct 2
2525 subsidies for respite care services seven days per week or at the rate at 3
2626 which such subsidy is delivered as of January, 1, 2019, (2) give 4
2727 preference for respite care services to persons who have not received 5
2828 such services and persons in need of emergency placement, (3) provide 6
2929 additional respite care services based on the geographical need of 7
3030 families who are waiting to receive such services from the department, 8
3131 (4) develop a staffing plan to ensure that respite care services are 9
3232 available during high demand periods, (5) not later than July 1, 2019, 10
3333 provide training to persons receiving respite care services in areas 11
3434 including, but not limited to, self-care, activities of daily living and 12
3535 personal and social adjustment, and (6) provide in-home support 13
3636 services to persons or families who are waiting to receive services from 14
