AN ACT CONCERNING PEDESTRIAN SAFETY AT CROSSWALKS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That subsection (c) of section 14-300 of the general statutes be 1 amended to require motor vehicles operators to grant the right-of-way 2 to a person who steps to the curb at the entrance to a crosswalk. 3 Statement of Purpose: To promote the safety of pedestrians by requiring motor vehicle operators to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians who step to the curb at a crosswalk, rather than only to pedestrians who step off the curb and into the crosswalk thereby endangering themselves.
