AN ACT CONCERNING SOCIAL SECURITY SURVIVOR BENEFITS
FOR CERTAIN TEACHERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 167a of the general statutes be amended to allow a 1
surviving spouse who is a teacher, and who at any point paid into the 2
Social Security system, to collect Social Security survivor benefits, 3
provided the deceased spouse also paid into the Social Security 4
system. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To allow certain teachers to receive certain Social Security survivor
benefits.
