19		-	AN ACT LIMITING RENT INCREASES IN CERTAIN MULTIFAMILY

21	19		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
22	20		Assembly convened:

24		-	Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2019) No person who has 1
25		-	entered into a contract with the state on or after October 1, 2019, 2
26		-	through the Commissioner of Housing, for state financial assistance in 3
27		-	the form of a state grant-in-aid, loan, deferred loan, loan guarantee or 4
28		-	interest subsidy for the construction, rehabilitation or renovation of a 5
29		-	multifamily dwelling may increase the rental price of any unit in such 6
30		-	dwelling, during the term of such contract, by more than the rate of 7
31		-	inflation for the previous calendar year, as determined by the 8
32		-	consumer price index. After the expiration of the contract, such person 9
33		-	shall not increase the rental price of any unit in the dwelling by more 10
34		-	than ten per cent per year, provided such unit is continuously 11
35		-	occupied by the same tenant. 12
36		-	This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
