2019 AN ACT RESTRICTING THE USE OF PRIOR CLAIMS FOR

2221 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2322 Assembly convened:

2524 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective January 1, 2020) No insurer, health care 1
2625 center, hospital service corporation, medical service corporation, 2
2726 fraternal benefit society or other entity that delivers, issues for 3
2827 delivery, renews, amends or continues an individual or group health 4
2928 insurance policy in this state providing coverage of the type specified 5
3029 in subdivisions (1), (2), (4), (11) and (12) of section 38a-469 of the 6
3130 general statutes shall discriminate against an individual on the basis of 7
3231 a prior claim for naloxone hydrochloride. Such discrimination may 8
3332 include, but is not limited to, discrimination in the amounts of policy 9
3433 premiums or rates, the availability of covered benefits or policy terms 10
3534 or conditions. 11
3635 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
