AN ACT CONCERNING THE IMPOSITION OF PENALTIES FOR
REPEATED VIOLATIONS OF MUNICIPAL REGULATIONS AND
ORDINANCES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 7-148 of the general statutes be amended to allow a 1
municipality to prescribe for increased penalties, not to exceed five 2
hundred dollars, that may be imposed for a repeated violation of the 3
same ordinance within a one-year period that results in the issuance of 4
a subsequent citation. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To improve a municipality's code enforcement process and reduce the
rate of repeat offenders.
