2121 AN ACT CONCERNING THE IMPROVEMENT OF CHILD

2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2424 Assembly convened:

2626 That section 10-221o of the general statutes be amended to require 1
2727 local and regional boards of education to require that each school 2
2828 under its jurisdiction provide students in preschool, kindergarten and 3
2929 grades one to five, inclusive, at least fifty minutes in total of undirected 4
3030 play through two dedicated blocks of time during the school day. 5
3131 Statement of Purpose:
3232 To require school districts to provide at least fifty minutes of
3333 undirected play in order to develop children's social skills, physical
3434 development and emotional well-being.
