AN ACT CONCERNING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR WHAT 
CONSTITUTES A SCHOOL YEAR. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That sections 10-15 and 10-16 of the general statutes be amended to 1 
allow local and regional boards of education to choose whether to 2 
provide at least one hundred eighty days of actual school sessions or 3 
nine hundred hours of actual school work during each school year. 4 
Statement of Purpose:   
To provide a school district with flexibility and control over the 
manner in which is it required to provide instructional time to its 
students.
