1818 AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEVELOPMENT OF STANDARDS FOR
1919 EARLY-DETECTION OF DYSLEXIA AND THE ADMINISTRATION OF
2020 INSTRUCTIONALLY ROBUST, EVIDENCE -BASED READING AND
2121 WRITING STRATEGIES.
2222 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2323 Assembly convened:

2525 That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to (1) establish a 1
2626 task force to develop policies and procedures for early detection and 2
2727 implementation of statewide standards of evidence-based, in-district 3
2828 interventions to prevent dyslexic students from falling behind, (2) 4
2929 require that individualized education programs be developed by a 5
3030 collaborative process that includes the diagnosed student or designee, 6
3131 family, physicians, special education professionals, teachers and 7
3232 administrators, (3) require the state to provide funding for 8
3333 interventions, in whole or in part, that is based on a pre-determined, 9
3434 published formula to be determined by evidence-based analysis, 10
3535 according to the statewide standards, and (4) require, with state 11
3636 funding in whole or in part, the intervention to be mandated and 12
3737 subject to implementation by all publicly-funded school districts, 13
