1219 AN ACT CONCERNING MO TOR VEHICLE TAX ASSESSME NTS FOR
1320 CERTAIN OWNERS OF RE NTAL PROPERTY.
1421 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1522 Assembly convened:

1724 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2019) Notwithstanding any 1
18-provision of the general statutes or any special act, municipal charter 2
19-or home rule ordinance, in the case of an owner of a rental property 3
20-who does not reside at such rental property and against whom taxes 4
21-are assessed for a motor vehicle located at such rental property, which 5
22-motor vehicle is not owned or leased by the owner of such rental 6
23-property, such owner may present, in any appeal for relief from such 7
24-assessment, as conclusive proof that such owner is not liable for such 8
25-assessment (1) a copy of such owner's motor vehicle operator's license, 9
26-(2) a utility bill addressed to such owner's personal residence, (3) a 10
27-lease agreement for such rental property, or (4) other relevant 11
28-information regarding the tenant or occupant of such rental property. 12
