AN ACT PERMITTING PERSONS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES USING
NONLETHAL DEFENSIVE INSTRUMENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That sections 29-38, 53-206 and 53a-217 of the general statutes be 1
amended to remove nonlethal electronic defense weapons from the list 2
of prohibited weapons. 3
Statement of Purpose:
To conform Connecticut law to the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in
Caetano v. Massachusetts finding bans on nonlethal defensive
instruments to be unconstitutional.
