AN ACT CONCERNING THE PAYMENT OF ATTORNEY'S FEES BY A 
PLAINTIFF WHO REFUSES TO ACCEPT A DEFENDANT'S OFFER OF 
COMPROMISE. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That section 52-195 of the general statutes be amended to permit a 1 
defendant to recover reasonable attorney's fees in an amount that 2 
exceeds three hundred fifty dollars in a matter where the plaintiff 3 
recovers less than the sum specified in the defendant's offer of 4 
compromise. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To permit the award of reasonable attorney's fees to a defendant in a 
matter where the plaintiff recovers less than the sum specified in the 
defendant's offer of compromise.
