24 | 24 | That: (1) section 54-192h of the general statutes be repealed; and (2) 1 | |
25 | 25 | the general statutes be amended to (A) prohibit any local or state 2 | |
26 | 26 | government official from interfering with or impeding the ability of 3 | |
27 | 27 | state or federal law enforcement personnel from carrying out their 4 | |
28 | 28 | respective duties as relates to the enforcement of federal immigration 5 | |
29 | 29 | law, (B) establish a process that allows a person to file a complaint if a 6 | |
30 | 30 | state or local government official interferes with the enforcement of 7 | |
31 | 31 | federal immigration law, (C) establish penalties for a state or local 8 | |
32 | 32 | government official who interferes with the enforcement of federal 9 | |
33 | 33 | immigration law, and (D) establish a civil cause of action that may be 10 | |
34 | 34 | brought against a state or local government official who interferes with 11 | |
