1818 AN ACT REQUIRING LOCAL AND STATE OFFICIALS TO FULLY
1919 COOPERATE WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL IN
2020 ENFORCING FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAW.
2121 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2222 Assembly convened:

2424 That: (1) section 54-192h of the general statutes be repealed; and (2) 1
2525 the general statutes be amended to (A) prohibit any local or state 2
2626 government official from interfering with or impeding the ability of 3
2727 state or federal law enforcement personnel from carrying out their 4
2828 respective duties as relates to the enforcement of federal immigration 5
2929 law, (B) establish a process that allows a person to file a complaint if a 6
3030 state or local government official interferes with the enforcement of 7
3131 federal immigration law, (C) establish penalties for a state or local 8
3232 government official who interferes with the enforcement of federal 9
3333 immigration law, and (D) establish a civil cause of action that may be 10
3434 brought against a state or local government official who interferes with 11
3535 the enforcement of federal immigration law. 12
3636 Statement of Purpose:
3737 To ensure that local and state officials are fully cooperating with law
3838 enforcement personnel in the enforcement of federal immigration law.
