AN ACT CONCERNING PRIVILEGED CONVERSATION BETWEEN
FIRST RESPONDERS AND A PEER SUPPORT TEAM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 899 of the general statutes be amended to (1) treat as 1
privileged and confidential any communication shared between a first 2
responder and a peer support team member, and (2) prohibit a peer 3
support team member from being compelled to testify in a criminal or 4
civil proceeding about any communication between a first responder 5
and a peer support team member, unless the first responder has 6
consented to the disclosure of such communication. 7
Statement of Purpose:
To improve mental health and peer support services for first
responders.
