AN ACT CONCERNING TH E REVIEW OF MUNICIPAL ARBITRATION
AWARDS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. Subdivision (12) of subsection (d) of section 7-473c of the 1
general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu 2
thereof (Effective October 1, 2019): 3
(12) Within twenty-five days of the receipt of an arbitration award 4
issued pursuant to this section, the legislative body of the municipal 5
employer may reject the award of the arbitrators or single arbitrator by 6
a two-thirds majority vote of the members of such legislative body 7
present at a regular or special meeting called and convened for such 8
purpose. If the twenty-fifth day specified in this subdivision falls on a 9
weekend or a holiday, such deadline shall be extended through the 10
next business day following the twenty-fifth day. 11
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To allow for uniformity in meeting and reviewing arbitration awards
by a municipality's legislative body.
