1818 AN ACT CONCERNING STATE CONTRACT ASSISTANCE PROVIDED
1919 TO CERTAIN MUNICIPALITIES.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That section 7-576j of the general statutes be amended to (1) reduce 1
2424 the amount of state aid provided annually to any municipality that has 2
2525 entered into a debt service assistance agreement with the state by the 3
2626 amount of debt service that the state pays on behalf of such 4
2727 municipality each year; (2) permit the General Assembly, in 5
2828 consideration of the recommendations of the Municipal Accountability 6
2929 Review Board, to approve an aggregate level of state aid provided to 7
3030 tier III and IV municipalities; and (3) require the approval of the joint 8
3131 standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of 9
3232 matters relating to appropriations and finance before the Secretary of 10
3333 the Office of Policy and Management and State Treasurer may enter 11
3434 the state into a debt service assistance agreement with a tier III or IV 12
3535 municipality. 13
3636 Statement of Purpose:
3737 To implement the provisions of public act 18-157 by (1) reducing the
3838 amount of state aid provided annually to any municipality that has
3939 entered into a debt service assistance agreement with the state by the Proposed Bill No. 6354

4545 municipality each year; (2) permitting the General Assembly to

4949 relating to appropriations and finance before the state may enter into a
