AN ACT CONCERNING PROTECTIONS FOR STATE AND LOCAL 
LAW ENFORCEMENT K9S. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to allow (1) ambulances to 1 
transport a law enforcement K9 to an emergency animal hospital when 2 
necessary, (2) emergency medical service providers to administer an 3 
opioid antagonist intravenously and to provide basic first aid to a law 4 
enforcement K9, and (3) state and local law enforcement K9 officers to 5 
carry opioid antagonists that may be administered to a K9. 6 
Statement of Purpose:   
To allow for protections for law enforcement K9s.
