LCO No. 6384 1 of 2 General Assembly Committee Bill No. 6364 January Session, 2019 LCO No. 6384 Referred to Committee on PUBLIC HEALTH Introduced by: (PH) AN ACT CONCERNING EM ERGENCY TRANSPORTATION FOR STATE AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT K9S. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2019) Any ambulance service 1 licensed or certified pursuant to chapter 368d of the general statutes (1) 2 may provide emergency transportation for a state or local law 3 enforcement K9 to an emergency animal hospital for treatment of an 4 injury or illness incurred in the line of duty, and (2) shall not be liable 5 for damages in a civil action or subject to criminal prosecution for the 6 emergency transportation of a state or local law enforcement K9. 7 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 July 1, 2019 New section Statement of Purpose: To allow ambulance services to transport a state or local law enforcement K9 to an emergency animal hospital when the law enforcement K9 is injured in the line of duty.
