AN ACT CONCERNING A REGISTRY OF PERSONS WHO ABUSE 
INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That section 17a-247b of the general statutes be amended to (1) 1 
allow individuals with disabilities and their families access to a 2 
registry of persons terminated for abusing or neglecting  individuals 3 
with intellectual disabilities, and (2) include a public registry of 4 
persons convicted of abusing, neglecting or financially exploiting 5 
individuals with intellectual disabilities. 6 
Statement of Purpose:   
To protect individuals with intellectual disabilities by allowing them 
access to a registry of employees terminated after substantiated reports 
of abuse and neglect and making public a list of persons who have 
been convicted of abusing, neglecting or financially exploiting 
individuals with intellectual disabilities.
