Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2019) (a) As used in this section: 1 (1) "Electronic cigarette liquid" has the same meaning as provided in 2 section 53-344b of the general statutes; 3 (2) "Flavoring agent" has the same meaning as provided in section 4 20-617a of the general statutes; and 5 (3) "Retail establishment" has the same meaning as provided in 6 section 19a-106a of the general statutes. 7 (b) Except as provided in subsection (c) of this section, on and after 8 January 1, 2020, no retail establishment may sell or offer for sale 9 electronic cigarette liquid to which a flavoring agent or other extract, 10 compound or concentrate has been added for the purpose of flavoring 11 such liquid. 12 (c) The provisions of subsection (b) of this section shall not apply to 13 a retail establishment if minors are prohibited from entering the retail 14 establishment and the prohibition on minors entering the retail 15 establishment is posted clearly on all entrances of the retail 16 Substitute Bill No. 6404 LCO {\\PRDFS1\HCOUSERS\BARRYJN\WS\2019HB-06404- R02-HB.docx } 2 of 2 establishment. 17 (d) Any retail establishment that violates subsection (b) of this 18 section shall be fined not more than two hundred dollars for the first 19 offense, not more than three hundred fifty dollars for a second offense 20 and not more than five hundred dollars for each subsequent offense. 21 (e) The Commissioner of Consumer Protection shall have the power 22 to enforce the provisions of this section. 23 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 July 1, 2019 New section KID Joint Favorable Subst.
