23 | 23 | That the general statutes be amended to (1) ensure that the 1 | |
24 | 24 | Department of Public Health, Office of Early Childhood and 2 | |
25 | 25 | Department of Education collect and share data to ensure that deaf, 3 | |
26 | 26 | hard of hearing and deaf-blind students have the necessary language 4 | |
27 | 27 | skills to acquire knowledge that will allow them to be successful in 5 | |
28 | 28 | school and after graduation, (2) establish a working group on language 6 | |
29 | 29 | assessment within the Department of Education to advise agencies on 7 | |
30 | 30 | appropriate language assessments, practices and programs, and (3) 8 | |
31 | 31 | ensure that interventions happen immediately if a student does not 9 | |
32 | 32 | demonstrate progress in age-appropriate expressive and receptive 10 | |
33 | 33 | language skills. 11 | |
