AN ACT PROHIBITING MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES FROM SERVING ON
CERTAIN MUNICIPAL LEGISLATIVE BODIE S.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That subsection (e) of section 7-421 of the general statutes be 1
amended to prohibit a municipal employee from serving on the 2
legislative body of a municipality if such legislative body has the 3
responsibilities and authority of a board of finance and if such 4
prohibition is set forth in the municipality's charter. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To extend an existing provision that prohibits a municipal employee
from serving on a municipal board of finance except where permitted
by municipal charter or home rule ordinance.
