AN ACT CONCERNING OUT -OF-DISTRICT PLACEMENTS OF
STUDENTS IN THE CARE AND CUSTODY OF THE COMMISSIONER
OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 10-253 of the general statutes be amended require the 1
Commissioner of Children and Families to check with a local or 2
regional board of education for a school district before the 3
commissioner can make an out-of-district placement of a student in the 4
care and custody of the commissioner to such school district. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To require the Commissioner of Children and Families to check with a
school district before placing a student in such school district.
