AN ACT CONCERNING CANDIDATES' PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to provide that any 1
individual filing paperwork to become a candidate for any public 2
office shall also submit documentary evidence of such individual's 3
United States citizenship to the filing authority. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To require individuals to provide proof of citizenship prior to
becoming a candidate for public office.
