AN ACT CONCERNING A TELEMEDICINE PILOT PROGRAM IN AN 
UNDER SERVED, RURAL DISTRICT. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require the 1 
Commissioner of Social Services to develop a Medicaid-funded pilot 2 
program to test the benefits of telemedicine in an eastern Connecticut 3 
rural district where access to service is hampered by inadequate 4 
transportation. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To allow the Department of Social Services to pilot the use of 
telemedicine in an under served rural district where access to service is 
hampered by inadequate transportation resources.
