AN ACT REQUIRING PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURERS TO 
OFFER COVERAGE FOR THE REMOVAL OF TREES FROM 
RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That chapter 700 of the general statutes be amended to require each 1 
insurer that delivers, issues for delivery, renews, amends or endorses a 2 
homeowners insurance policy for a residential property in this state to 3 
offer coverage for the removal of trees from such property that have 4 
fallen onto such property due to a natural disaster. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To require each insurer that delivers, issues for delivery, renews, 
amends or endorses a homeowners insurance policy for a residential 
property in this state to offer coverage for the removal of trees from 
such property that have fallen onto such property due to a natural 
disaster.
