18	18	AN ACT CONCERNING MEDICAID, MEDICARE AND HEALTH
19	19	INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR PSYCHOTROPIC DRUGS.
20	20	Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
21	21	Assembly convened:

23	23	That the general statutes be amended to provide that Medicaid, 1
24	24	Medicare and no insurer, health care center, hospital service 2
25	25	corporation, medical service corporation, fraternal benefit society or 3
26	26	other entity that delivers, issues for delivery, renews, amends or 4
27	27	continues a health insurance policy in this state that includes 5
28	28	prescription drug coverage shall require that a health care provider 6
29	29	prescribe a specific quantity of a psychotropic medication if such 7
30	30	quantity exceeds the quantity that the provider deems appropriate. 8
31	31	Statement of Purpose:
32	32	To provide that Medicaid, Medicare and no insurer, health care center,
33	33	hospital service corporation, medical service corporation, fraternal
34	34	benefit society or other entity that delivers, issues for delivery, renews,
35	35	amends or continues a health insurance policy in this state that
36	36	includes prescription drug coverage shall require that a health care
37	37	provider prescribe a specific quantity of a psychotropic medication if
38	38	such quantity exceeds the quantity that the provider deems
39	39	appropriate.
