AN ACT PERMITTING HOME ASSIGNMENT DAYS TO COUNT 
TOWARD THE ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY SCHOOL DAYS PER YEAR 
REQUIREMENT IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That section 10-15 of the general statutes be amended to permit a 1 
local or regional board of education to count home assignment days 2 
toward the one hundred eighty days of school sessions per year 3 
requirement when public school sessions have been cancelled for 4 
reasons of inclement weather or otherwise. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To reduce the burden placed on school districts and families 
concerning the scheduling of school sessions when weather-related 
events or other natural disasters occur.
