2323 AN ACT CONCERNING THE LOW -INCOME STUDENT COUNT OF THE
2424 EDUCATION COST SHARING GRANT FORMULA.
2525 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2626 Assembly convened:

2828 That section 10-262f of the general statutes be amended to revise the 1
2929 definition of "number of children eligible for free or reduced price 2
3030 meals or free milk" by replacing the provision relating to families that 3
3131 meet the income eligibility guidelines established by the federal 4
3232 Department of Agriculture for free or reduced price meals or free milk 5
3333 under the National School Lunch Program, established pursuant to 6
3434 P.L. 79-396, with a provision relating to students who are directly 7
3535 certified for free or reduced-price meals through the direct certification 8
3636 process authorized by the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, P.L. 9
3737 111-296, and Section 18(c) of the National School Lunch Act, 10
3838 established pursuant to P.L. 79-396. 11
3939 Statement of Purpose:
4040 To more accurately count low-income students for purposes of the
4141 education cost sharing grant formula.
