AN ACT REQUIRING BEST PRACTICES BY INSTITUTIONS OF 
HIGHER EDUCATION IN RESPONSE TO REPORTS OF SEXUAL 
ASSAULT, STALKING OR INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
  Proposed Bill No.   6890

That title 10a of the general statutes be amended to require public 1 
and independent institutions of higher education in the state to use 2 
best practices and protections in response to reported or disclosed 3 
instances of sexual assault, stalking and intimate partner violence. 4 
Statement of Purpose:   
To study the impact of the changes proposed to Title IX of the 
Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1972 and to ensure that 
students at institutions of higher education in the state are protected.
