AN ACT PENALIZING UNAUTHORIZED USE OF THE TITLE "SOCIAL
WORKER".
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 383b of the general statutes be amended to authorize 1
the Commissioner of Public Health to issue a fine or cease and desist 2
order to persons who use the title "social worker" without having 3
obtained a baccalaureate, master's or doctoral degree from an 4
educational program accredited by the Council on Social Work. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure only qualified persons use the title of social worker.
