25 | 24 | | Section 1. Section 31-98 of the general statutes is repealed and the 1 |
---|
26 | 25 | | following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective from passage): 2 |

27 | 26 | | (a) The panel, or its single member if sitting in accordance with 3 |
---|
28 | 27 | | section 31-93, may, in its discretion and with the consent of the parties, 4 |
---|
29 | 28 | | issue an oral decision immediately upon conclusion of the 5 |
---|
30 | 29 | | proceedings. If the decision is to be in writing, it shall be signed, within 6 |
---|
31 | 30 | | fifteen days, by a majority of the members of the panel or by the single 7 |
---|
32 | 31 | | member so sitting, and the decision shall state such details as will 8 |
---|
33 | 32 | | clearly show the nature of the decision and the points disposed of by 9 |
---|
34 | 33 | | the panel. Where the decision is in writing, one copy thereof shall be 10 |
---|
35 | 34 | | filed by the panel in the office of the town clerk in the town where the 11 |
---|
36 | 35 | | controversy arose and one copy shall be given to each of the parties to 12 |
---|
37 | 36 | | the controversy. The panel or single member which has rendered an 13 |
---|
38 | 37 | | oral decision immediately upon conclusion of the proceedings shall 14 |
---|
39 | 38 | | submit a written copy of the decision to each party within fifteen days 15 |

47 | 45 | | rendered orally from the bench, the secretary shall cause such oral 17 |

48 | 46 | | decision to be transcribed, approved by the panel or single member as 18 |

50 | 48 | | (b) Upon the conclusion of the proceedings, each member of the 20 |

51 | 49 | | panel shall receive three hundred twenty-five dollars and a panel 21 |

52 | 50 | | member who prepares a written decision shall receive an additional 22 |

53 | 51 | | five hundred dollars, or the single member, if sitting in accordance 23 |

54 | 52 | | with section 31-93, shall receive three hundred twenty-five dollars, 24 |

55 | 53 | | provided if the proceedings extend beyond one day, each member 25 |
---|
56 | 54 | | shall receive [one hundred fifty] three hundred twenty-five dollars for 26 |

57 | 55 | | each additional day beyond the first day, and provided further no 27 |
---|
58 | 56 | | proceeding may be extended beyond two days without the prior 28 |
---|
59 | 57 | | approval of the Labor Commissioner for each such additional day. 29 |

60 | 58 | | (c) Upon the conclusion of an executive panel session, each member 30 |
---|
61 | 59 | | of such panel shall receive [one hundred fifty] two hundred dollars. 31 |
