AN ACT CONCERNING NO NEMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION FOR
NURSING HOME RESIDEN TS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2019) Any nursing home or 1
nursing home facility, as defined in section 19a-490 of the general statutes, 2
with available vehicles equipped to transport nonambulatory residents 3
shall provide nonemergency transportation for such residents to the 4
homes of family members provided: (1) Such family members live within 5
the same municipality as the nursing home, and (2) such transportation is 6
approved by a physician. The charge for such transportation to the 7
nonambulatory resident may not exceed the nursing home's cost of 8
providing the transportation. 9
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To provide transportation, if available, for nursing home residents to
visit their families nearby.
