20	19		AN ACT CONCERNING NO NEMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION FOR
21	20		NURSING HOME RESIDEN TS.
22	21		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
23	22		Assembly convened:

25	24		Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2019) Any nursing home or 1
26	25		nursing home facility, as defined in section 19a-490 of the general statutes, 2
27	26		with available vehicles equipped to transport nonambulatory residents 3
28	27		shall provide nonemergency transportation for such residents to the 4
29	28		homes of family members provided: (1) Such family members live within 5
30	29		the same municipality as the nursing home, and (2) such transportation is 6
31	30		approved by a physician. The charge for such transportation to the 7
32	31		nonambulatory resident may not exceed the nursing home's cost of 8
33	32		providing the transportation. 9
