19	19	AN ACT CONCERNING SE RVICE ANIMALS.
20	20	Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
21	21	Assembly convened:

23	23	Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2019) (a) No individual may 1
24	24	knowingly represent, whether expressly or impliedly, that a dog is a 2
25	25	service animal or being trained as a service animal, for the purpose of 3
26	26	obtaining any rights or privileges afforded to an individual with a 4
27	27	disability, unless such dog is a service animal or is being trained to be a 5
28	28	service animal. For purposes of this subsection "service animal" means 6
29	29	service animal and "individual with a disability" means individual 7
30	30	with a disability, both as defined by 28 CFR 35.104, as amended from 8
31	31	time to time. 9
32	32	(b) Any person who violates any provision of subsection (a) of this 10
33	33	section shall be fined not more than one hundred fifty dollars. 11
34	34	Sec. 2. Subsection (b) of section 51-164n of the general statutes is 12
35	35	repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective 13
