2626 Section 1. Subsection (a) of section 38a-503b of the general statutes is 1
2727 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective 2

2929 (a) As used in this section, "carrier" means each insurer, health care 4
3030 center, hospital service corporation, medical service corporation or 5
3131 other entity delivering, issuing for delivery, renewing, amending or 6
3232 continuing any individual health insurance policy in this state 7
3333 providing coverage of the type specified in subdivisions (1), (2), (4), 8
3434 [(6),] (10), (11) and (12) of section 38a-469. 9
3535 Sec. 2. Subsection (a) of section 38a-530b of the general statutes is 10
3636 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective 11

4343 (a) As used in this section, "carrier" means each insurer, health care 13

4646 continuing any group health insurance policy in this state providing 16
4747 coverage of the type specified in subdivisions (1), (2), (4), [(6),] (11) and 17

4949 Sec. 3. Subsection (b) of section 38a-535 of the general statutes is 19
5050 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective 20
5151 January 1, 2020): 21

5353 (b) Each group health insurance policy providing coverage of the 23
5454 type specified in subdivisions (1), (2), (4), [(6),] (11) and (12) of section 24
5555 38a-469 delivered, issued for delivery or renewed on or after October 1, 25
5656 1989, or continued as defined in section 38a-531, on or after October 1, 26
5757 1990, shall provide benefits for preventive pediatric care for any child 27
5858 covered by the policy or contract at approximately the following age 28
5959 intervals: Every two months from birth to six months of age, every 29
6060 three months from nine to eighteen months of age and annually from 30
6161 two through six years of age. Any such policy may provide that 31
6262 services rendered during a periodic review shall be covered to the 32
6363 extent that such services are provided by or under the supervision of a 33
6464 single physician during the course of one visit. On and after January 1, 34
6565 2009, each such policy shall also provide coverage for blood lead 35
6666 screening and risk assessments ordered by a primary care provider 36
6767 pursuant to section 19a-111g. Such benefits shall be subject to any 37
6868 policy provisions which apply to other services covered by such 38
6969 policy. 39
