AN ACT CONCERNING ME MBERSHIP OF THE CONNECTICUT STAT E
BOARD OF EXAMINERS F OR PHYSICAL THERAPIS TS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. Section 20-67 of the general statutes is repealed and the 1
following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 1, 2019): 2
The Connecticut State Board of Examiners for Physical Therapists 3
shall consist of [one physician, two] three physical therapists and two 4
public members, appointed by the Governor, subject to the provisions 5
of section 4-9a. The Governor may appoint the physical therapist 6
members of said board from a list of [two] three names submitted by 7
the Connecticut chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association. 8
[and may appoint the physician member from a name submitted by 9
the Connecticut State Medical Society.] Vacancies in said board shall be 10
filled by the Governor for the unexpired portion of the term. All 11
appointments shall be subject to the provisions of section 4-10. No 12
member shall serve more than two consecutive full terms, commencing 13

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
Section 1 July 1, 2019 20-67
Statement of Purpose:
To increase the number of physical therapist members and to remove
the physician member from the Connecticut State Board of Examiners
for Physical Therapists.
