25 | 25 | | Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a task force 1 |
---|
26 | 26 | | to study the implementation of the requirements of North Carolina 2 |
---|
27 | 27 | | Board of State Dental Examiners v. Federal Trade Commission 3 |
---|
28 | 28 | | regarding licensed building trade examining boards established 4 |
---|
29 | 29 | | pursuant to title 20 of the general statutes. 5 |
---|
30 | 30 | | (b) The task force shall consist of the following members: 6 |
---|
31 | 31 | | (1) Two appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives; 7 |
---|
32 | 32 | | (2) Two appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate; 8 |
---|
33 | 33 | | (3) One appointed by the majority leader of the House of 9 |
---|
34 | 34 | | Representatives; 10 |
---|
43 | 42 | | Representatives; 13 |
---|
44 | 43 | | (6) One appointed by the minority leader of the Senate; 14 |
---|
45 | 44 | | (7) The Commissioner of Consumer Protection, or the 15 |
---|
46 | 45 | | commissioner's designee; and 16 |

47 | 46 | | (8) Two persons appointed by the Governor. 17 |

48 | 47 | | (c) Any member of the task force appointed under subdivision (1), 18 |
---|
49 | 48 | | (2), (3), (4), (5) or (6) of subsection (b) of this section may be a member 19 |
---|
50 | 49 | | of the General Assembly. 20 |

51 | 50 | | (d) All appointments to the task force shall be made not later than 21 |
---|
52 | 51 | | thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy shall be 22 |
---|
53 | 52 | | filled by the appointing authority. 23 |

54 | 53 | | (e) The speaker of the House of Representatives and the president 24 |
---|
55 | 54 | | pro tempore of the Senate shall select the chairpersons of the task force 25 |
---|
56 | 55 | | from among the members of the task force. Such chairpersons shall 26 |
---|
57 | 56 | | schedule the first meeting of the task force, which shall be held not 27 |
---|
58 | 57 | | later than sixty days after the effective date of this section. 28 |
---|
59 | 58 | | (f) The administrative staff of the joint standing committee of the 29 |
---|
60 | 59 | | General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to the 30 |
---|
61 | 60 | | Department of Consumer Protection shall serve as administrative staff 31 |
---|
62 | 61 | | of the task force. 32 |
---|
63 | 62 | | (g) Not later than January 1, 2020, the task force shall submit a 33 |
---|
64 | 63 | | report on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing 34 |
---|
65 | 64 | | committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 35 |
---|
66 | 65 | | relating to the Department of Consumer Protection, in accordance with 36 |
---|
67 | 66 | | the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes. The task force 37 |
---|
68 | 67 | | shall terminate on the date that it submits such report or January 1, 38 |
---|
