| 16 | 22 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General | |
| 17 | 23 | Assembly convened: | |

| 19 | 25 | Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a task force 1 | |
| 20 | 26 | to study issues relating to the education cost sharing formula, as 2 | |
| 21 | 27 | described in section 10-262h of the general statutes. The task force shall 3 | |
| 22 | 28 | review such formula and consider the following: (1) The effect of such 4 | |
| 23 | 29 | formula on the distribution of state education funds to (A) towns of 5 | |
| 24 | 30 | different sizes, and (B) urban, suburban and rural towns, and (2) the 6 | |
| 25 | 31 | effect of the phase-in of funding levels, as described in subsection (c) of 7 | |
| 26 | 32 | section 10-262h of the general statutes, on the predictability and 8 | |
| 27 | 33 | sustainability of education funding for towns. 9 | |
| 28 | 34 | (b) The task force shall consist of the following members: 10 | |
| 29 | 35 | (1) Two appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives, 11 | |
| 30 | 36 | one of whom is a representative of the Connecticut Association of 12 | |

| 53 | 58 | (c) All appointments to the task force shall be made not later than 29 | |
| 54 | 59 | thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy shall be 30 | |
| 55 | 60 | filled by the appointing authority. 31 | |
| 56 | 61 | (d) The speaker of the House of Representatives and the president 32 | |
| 57 | 62 | pro tempore of the Senate shall select the chairpersons of the task force 33 | |
| 58 | 63 | from among the members of the task force. Such chairpersons shall 34 | |
| 59 | 64 | schedule the first meeting of the task force, which shall be held not 35 | |
| 60 | 65 | later than sixty days after the effective date of this section. 36 | |
