| 24 | 24 | | Section 1. Section 16-233 of the general statutes is repealed and the 1 |

| 25 | 25 | | following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2019): 2 |

| 26 | 26 | | Each town, city, borough, fire district or the Department of 3 |

| 27 | 27 | | Transportation shall have the right to occupy and use for any purpose, 4 |

| 28 | 28 | | including, but not limited to, efforts to consolidate administrative and 5 |

| 29 | 29 | | business office functions and information technology associated with 6 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | such functions with other towns, cities, boroughs or fire districts and 7 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | other entities, without payment therefor, one gain upon each public 8 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | utility pole or in each underground communications duct system 9 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | installed by a public service company within the limits of any such 10 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | town, city, borough or district. The location or relocation of any such 11 |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | gain shall be prescribed by the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority. 12 |
