RESOLUTION PROPOSING A STATE CONSTITUTIONAL
AMENDMENT CONCERNING THE VOTE REQUIREMENT FOR THE
ENACTMENT OF NEW SOURCES OF TAX REVENUE.
Resolved by this Assembly:
That article third of the Constitution be amended to require the vote 1
of two-thirds of the members of each house of the General Assembly 2
for the enactment of any legislation proposing a new source of tax 3
revenue. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To limit the tax burden on state residents and businesses by requiring
any legislation proposing a new source of tax revenue to be approved
by a two-thirds vote of each house of the General Assembly.
