AN ACT CONCERNING TH E PRESENTATION OF A CA RRY PERMIT. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
Section 1. Subsection (b) of section 29-35 of the general statutes is 1 
repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective 2 
October 1, 2019): 3 
(b) The holder of a permit issued pursuant to section 29-28 shall 4 
carry such permit upon one's person while carrying such pistol or 5 
revolver. Such holder shall present his or her permit upon the request 6 
of a law enforcement officer [who has reasonable suspicion of a crime]  7 
for purposes of verification of the validity of the permit or 8 
identification of the holder, provided such holder is carrying a pistol or 9 
revolver that is observed by such law enforcement officer.  10 
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following 
sections:

Statement of Purpose:   
To require individuals openly carrying to produce their permit if their 
firearm is visible and if requested by a law enforcement officer.
